Mentor Meeting 2

In today's meeting I went through all of this week's research, including CJ Clarke's series and my family photos. I also mentioned various vague ideas that have stemmed from this and my plans for next Thursday's shoot...
After looking through some of my research imagery and chatting more about the concept of class, the topic of environments seemed to come up frequently. A point that I found particularly interesting was that regarding what was once assumed the working-class home (Richard Billingham and Nick Waplington photography springs to mind) and what is now the common working-class home (large T.V's on the wall as a focus of the home? Excessive possessions? Etc). When discussing this idea further and trying to relate it to my youth/fashion perspective, the idea of photographing my models in their own home's was brought forward. However, due to these homes often being spread across various cities, consent and various other accessibility issues, I later decided to add another location to the upcoming shoot on Thursday - my model's student home. Bedroom shots, for example, may provide a more personal feel which can after be analysed and developed.

My plans to go forward with the additional experiment of giving my subject's disposable camera's seemed to be encouraged and I'm now quite excited to see these possibly contrasting outcomes. Overall, I still have concerns regarding time as my concept is far from set, however, I feel more relaxed after reviewing some interesting areas to be explored and am keen to see where the project goes.
