CJ Clarke - Magic Party Place

Whilst continuing to research inspiration for the book's concept, I came across CJ Clarke's photography featured on Dazed Digital. Clarke's work captures "the essence of growing up in working-class Britain", with a documentary series shot in his hometown, Basildon.

The youth focus of the series really appealed to me, especially as it seemed to combine a sense of frozen energy with gritty reality. Many of the shots got me thinking about "re-posing class", an area previously discussed in my last mentor session. Expressions and personal environments seem to help bring this together in the series, which I can begin to interpret in my own shoots.
