This week was supposed to be dedicated to getting all disposable cameras back off participants and printed, ready for the layout process. However, I've had numerous issues in trying to do so!
With one person having apparently forgotten about their disposable, there is now very limited time for them to be completed. Another contributor has in-fact left the disposable behind all-together whilst he is on holiday, leaving no time for the use of his shots. However, this person's digital shoot (as reflected on in a previous post) was not as successful as others and considered more as a back-up, hence, he may now be able to be cut from the zine completely, particularly due to the wide range of digital shots intended for use after the editing process.
Also, the first person photographed, though said to have initially completed her disposables, has now misplaced it. I'm gutted to not get hold of these shots as she told me she had a chance to take photos of her family back home which I thought may be of intrigue. Though stressed by the approaching deadlines of my production plans and this inconvenience, I am still so grateful to each person for taking the time for extra shots that I can not direct my negativity towards them. After all, they're still all doing me a favour! My plan now is to quickly buy another disposable for Ellie and get it to her with a new collection date in mind, make sure people with the remaining cameras also have a clear date for collection and in the meantime, complete any leftover editing and begin work on layout with the images I have thus far.
Note to self: Don't be afraid to continuously reiterate any specific deadline dates when other people are involved for the completion of a task.
